The children of Aquarius are of a rather shy, retiring nature. They like to keep their own company and counsel more than is good for them, for if this bent in the nature is allowed full scope, it has a tendency to breed melancholy and make them recluses.

They have a quiet, unassuming manner which gains many friends for them and their home life is usually ideal. they are generally affectionate and of a very sweet and kind disposition; they are always ready to defer to the opinion of a loved one and ready to yield a point for the sake of harmony. Besides, Aquarius being a fixed sign they are very constant in their affection as well as in other things.

Aquarius is an intellectual sign and its children usually have a good mentality, because the Saturnine rulership gives depth to the mind, and the Uranian ray gives them intuition and an inclination towards science, literature and philosophy. They are remarkably persistent in whatever they undertake, and therefore usually succeed in the long run.

As Aquarius is the 11th sign it partakes also of the qualities ruled by the 11th House; therefore the children of Aquarius are usually well liked among their as- sociates and have many friends. The children of Aquarius are very proud and jealous of the esteem of others. Their principal fault is that on account of Saturnine traits they are somewhat given to worry.

As with the Leos, they are strong in their likes and dislikes; they will do anything for those who have won their affection, but resent any attempt to drive them, and under such conditions are extremely stubborn; in fact they are very set in their mental attitude, and once an opinion has been formed it is not easily changed. They are so very sensitive to the mental conditions around them that it affects their physical well being perhaps more than they are aware of for this is one of the most sensitive signs.

Aquarius is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Aquarius. Under the tropical zodiac, Aquarius is occupied by the Sun from January 21 to February 19.[1] Under the sidereal zodiac, Aquarius is occupied currently from February 13 to March 14[2][3].

Description

Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac and associated with future ideas and the unusual. In some cosmologies, Aquarius is associated with the classical element Air, and thus called an Air Sign[8] (with Libra and Gemini). It is also one of the four Fixed signs[4] (along with Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus). Its polar opposite is Leo.

Aquarius is the domicile of Saturn[5] (since its discovery Uranus has been considered Aquarius' ruling or co-ruling planet by many modern astrologers[9]). Aquarius is traditionally thought to be ruled by the planet Saturn, but in more recent years many astrologers have labelled Uranus as the ruler or co-ruler of Aquarius[7], attributing the erraticism associated with the Sign to the planet's influence.


Body and health

Physically, individuals born under the sign of Aquarius supposedly tend to have fairly nice, finely chiseled features and a slender figure. The males are often said to tend to be handsome but somewhat soft in features. In appearance and the females somewhat broad-shouldered and strong looking but fair also. Each astrological sign is assigned a part of the body, viewed as the seat of its power. Aquarius rules the circulatory system[10] as well as the ankles[6]. The symbol for Aquarius is the water bearer. In terms of anatomy, Aquarius is said to rule the legs from knees to ankles and the circulation of blood.

Miscellaneous

Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a modest, creative, challenging, inquisitive, entertaining, progressive, stimulating, nocturnal, and independent character, but one which is also prone to rebelliousness, coldness, erraticism, indecisiveness, and impracticality. In terms of geography, Aquarius is linked with Greece, Sweden, Canada, Ethiopia and Poland[11].

Mythology

In mythology Aquarius is often associated with the mythological figure of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, from the Greek myth of the Trojan War. Aquarius is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Uranus/Caelus and sometimes the god Cronus/Saturn. In Grecian mythology, Aquarius is the constellation that was once Ganymede, the Prince of Troy. Legend has it that Ganymede was brought by a giant eagle into the sky and came to be the pederastic love of the god Zeus. Being the cupbearer of the gods, Ganymede was placed in the stars as the constellation of Aquarius.
